Black screen during boot

So I bought this laptop and also a crucial m4 128gb SSD.
I installed windows on the SSD ( win 7 HP 64bit) and applied some drivers. After many windows updates and reboots, it suddenly wouldn't boot windows. When I turned it on, after the Asus logo screen, a blank black screen is there. NO windows logo. Now from what I've read online, it should either be the gpu not starting or some kind of corrupted file that doesn't let windows boot properly? I then removed the SSD from the sata socket and put it back in ( i heard that it might work ). Indeed windows booted normaly and pretty fast with this SSD. I then installed numerous nvidia drivers and an Intel cpu i5 update. I also tested the temps of the gpu at idle and they were 46-50. I then loaded call of duty 2 to check the ingame gpu temps and they were like 70 C max. Some questions for you guys. Which drivers are important for the system to work and boot properly? Is my SSD malfunctioning maybe? ( i did a few formats when creating partitions until I managed to find what fits my needs ). Also, what about the GPU temperatures? They are normal or? ( i dont use a cooling pad yet). And what about the problem with the black screen and no boot? Maybe windows boots but the gpu does not start? Then again there are intel integrated graphics so SOMETHING should be displayed.

I hope I get some answers to those questions. Really need to know if something is wrong with my laptop.

Do not download and install graphics driver from Windows Update. I always hide that driver from automatic download and install. Install all available from WU excepts AMD & NVIDIA graphics drivers. If you can not roll back prior to it, reformat and reinstall is the only option.

OK here's the deal. If I turn off the notebook and then press the power button so it turns on, the black screen thing happens. No windows logo. HOwever, if I go to bios first and save and exit, system restars and boots normaly. My thought is that it's SSD related ? I dont recall having this problem with my preinstalled HDD drive. Plus SSDs need more amperes dont they? Someone help please
I also did a system restore to a point before I had installed gpu drivers.

Just found this, http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Solid-St...ons/td-p/57854

For some the firmware update worked, for others not. I haven't tried it yet. Will do a fresh windows installation first, then run the update. I'll keep you guys posted!
