1035T Experet Advice Needed! Stable Overclock? - Page 2

Oh forgot about the monitor, it's 1080p.
So what should be the top overclock I should aim for?
I know that 4GHz is not only unnecessary but dangerous for stability.

3.6GHz? but will that really be that much better than 3.2GHz?

Alright, got it to 3.6GHz!

Speed: @ 3.6GHz vs @ 2.6GHz stock
Voltage: 1.36 V
HT: 1938 MHz
NB: 1938 MHz
Multiplier: x 13
Bus Speed: 277 MHz
Ram: 1108

I really want it to work at 1.36 V, I don't want to go to 1.4 V... if it does then I'll keep lowering it until I find the lowest voltage it can work with at 3.6GHz.

Also, at 3.6GHz my ram wouldn't boot at certain 11xx setting so I had to rearrange the multiplier and bus speed which let me pick a different MHz setting which let me boot, does this make sense to anyone?

about to test with prime95

edit: Whoa! That's a 1GHz overclock!

update:

At 3.6GHz, PassMark's PerformanceTest gives it 6,920.7!
It beats Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20GHz which is at 6,674!

Otherwise great OC man. 1Ghz OC is no joke.

I would up your NB clock to the top multi! @ 1.3. I have read and you can search the gains you will get. 2.6Ghz to 3.0Ghz on the NB help a lot.

The thing about the northbridge clock and voltage, do I have to tinker with it or is it just if I want more performance?

There are many things I don't know about the northbridge adjustments, like what is the max voltage and frequency and how many increments to go by, also what does it do for all the other components... and so on.

update:

I got the voltage to 1.34 from 1.36 and it still running stable at 3.6GHz, I'm thinking I could go down to 1.3.

Solid.

I by no means am an expert on NB. Without looking it up from what I know it increases the bandwidth between your CPU and RAM.

I'm not sure max voltage but have seen most ppl on this site have it between 1.25v-1.3v(stock is 1.2v I believe). There are many articles and reviews on ratios you should have between CPU frequency and NB frequency.

That being said I would just try and raise it as high as you can towards 3Ghz. It will increase your CPU heat so make sure your temps are still good.

Look at your core temp... Phenom II x6 1035T has max temp of 71'C ... stay below 65'C. Don't believe to people who says AMD's max temp is 62'C. "NO". 125W/140W TDP Cpu's had 62'C of max temp. Your is 95W i think, your MAX CORE TEMP IS 71'C. REMEMBER. You can overclock till 65'C on core (to stay safe) and max voltage for your cpu is 1.55v don't go over 1.55v (it's used to 7/24 usage).

Prime 95 tested for 9 hours with 3.6 V at 3.6GHz, temps don't go above 45C and no errors. I've tried to overclock it to 3.8GHz but my ram won't let me boot above 1108 but it's rated 1333, anyone know why? Is certain ram only compatible with certain speeds? I've tried tinkering with the multiplier and bus speeds to get a ram value that will let me boot but nothing above 3.7GHz will give me a value that lets me boot.

set ram timings to 9-9-9-24 1.65v (to generic) when he boots.. test it if he success drop ram timings to 8-8-8-22 1.65v

can you please explain that better, my default ram voltage is 1.5V
this is my ram:

will I be decreasing ram timings from 9-9-9-27 to 9-9-9-24 and could this cause ram instability?
