My ram settings are currently on auto at 1108 but should I manually change them to default settings even though it's running at 1108????????????

I believe 1.65 is the standard safe voltage for most RAM I could be wrong. So like he is suggesting raising that would allow you to probably OC past 3.6 and possibly even let you tighten your RAM timings as well. I say give it a shot.

Also he may be right about the temps I have never heard that but I'm going to google it now biggrin.gif

I'm not sure about your MB but mine will only allow me to change my RAM multiplier. So you would be stuck at either 1108 or 13xx. Thats what the exrta voltage should help with.

I've tried adjusting ram voltage and timings but no matter what I do, it won't boot with most ram speeds above 1080 and for a higher overclock I can only choose higher speeds.

Ram MHz settings that don't let me boot
1233
1284
1286
1240
1236
1276
1216
1176
1220

default ram is 1333

I think 3.6GHz is a good overclock at this point, especially since it tests stable at only 1.32V. I wish I could have gone to 3.8GHz since it might work with only 1.36V but 3.6GHz ought to do for a while and if future games with these kinds of graphics won't need higher then I'm set.

I wonder how unreal engine 4 will look.

back to my other question,

Thermal and Voltage degradation doesn't come into effect, on the Phenom II line, until after you pass the 1.5v barrier. The highest I would ever go would be 1.4875v because of this. You're fine so long as you stay out of that area.
