FSB speed for DDR2-1066 RAM?

Thread Starter
Alright, I am trying to get my RAM speed set to 1066Mhz, since that is it's capability. Currently it is set at 800Mhz, and my FSB is set to 200, giving me a 1:2 ratio. I have tried many different things, all of which did not work, so I am going to see if anyone can help me out. I tried setting my FSB to 266, but I couldn't get it to post after that. I tried toying around with various voltages, as well as the HT link to make sure it wasn't exceeding the capacity of the CPU. This is where I am at right now. Any suggestions in general would be welcome, I am still fairly new to overclocking:

Thanks guys.

what are the options on memory clock frequency? DDR2 1066 should be an option there. if not you might want to see if a newer bios fixes that for your motherboard.

DDR2 1066 is an option, but when I set it with the CPU frequency at 200 I get some strange ratio and the computer crashes a lot. So I thought I needed to get the frequency to 266.

You have to loosen your timings most likely and make sure the volts that the RAM is rated at are set. Try 5-5-5-15

is your ram set at the right volts? check that.

I tried both auto on all the timings, as well as 5-5-5-15 and still no luck. How high should I raise the voltage. I went a little over 2.0v, the ram is advertised from 1.8v-1.9v.

Firstly, it's a known issue that these chips don't play well with four sticks of DDR2 at 1066. But don't let that stop you from trying.

Are you raising your timings? Should be something like 5-5-5-15 at 1066. Look at the sticker on the RAM.

Are they getting enough juice? 2.1V is pretty common at this speed & timings. Again, look at the sticker on the RAM.

Also, why ganged?
