hi if anyone could give me some good advise i'd be really grateful. i would like to upgrade my pc but don't know where to go from here? i was at first thinking ram to 12gb 2000mhz but would i really notice any difference with the speed or size upgrade. then i thought ssd? then i was thinking cpu. should i stick with i7 LGA1366? i've got about £300 or so to spend?

wait for SB-E and grab one of those. they come out next month. that would be a complete system re-haul though.

or get a SSD.

Well it depends on what you do with your rig. These first gen i7's are still very good for most things. I know I don't have any issues with any programs. However, if you do any sort of heavy encoding, rendering, etc. your rig would definitely benefit from more and faster RAM.

An SSD for your boot disk would also be a noticeable improvement. Although, if you got another raptor and put them in RAID 0 you also get a noticeable performance improvement.

And then again, you always just upgrade to SB.

with ram so cheap why not but you know, more ram means much hassle overclocking tho. but I think you should Probably save up for a CPU/Motherboard Upgrade (sb -e = sandy bridge e) and maybe invest in water cooling. the 920 is till good as gold man so you could just grab a second gtx 480 and be done with it. Or sell the gtx480 and grab a 580
