toshiba l 655d clack screen

Hey i need some help. I got this laptop from my friend to fix it. It had a bad hard drive. Today i replaced it with a new one but now it just gives me a black screen with a cursor on the top. i cant even access the bios it just beeps. please help

How many beeps, if it is constant, the first thing to check would be the RAM, make sure the contacts are clean, if not clean the contacts with alcohol and reseat them. If more than half of the contacts are sticking out, then the RAM is not seated properly.

i checked the ram it is seated properly. cant access the bios if i pres the keys repeatedly the beeping noise doesent stop

Remove the keyboard and power it up without it in. If its not the ram its usually a stuck key or issue with the kb.
