Does this happen with cable/blu-ray sources?

As for the board being bad, this is not generally a symptom of a failing board.

What is the EXACT resolution that you have your PC set at, including refresh rate?

EDIT: does this only happen @ fullscreen with the media players and dragon age?

it dose not happen with the antenna.havent seen it on the news or simpsons and its BAD so i would of noticed. i dont have cable or a blu-ray player yet
monitor resolution at 1920x1080 and set to duplicate display so the 1080p TV should be the same. refresh rate is set for 60 hertz on monitor and TV. tv says
Horizontal Frequency15 - 68 kHz
Vertical Frequency23 - 61 Hz
in everest

screen tears with anything fast moving. i reproduced it by simply dragging firefox back and forth, its always in the same spot...could it be my video card??
tested it with shorter better HDMI cables and its still a problem.

where did the bolded text come from? OSD(On Screen display) or the User Manual?

I watched gundam a long time ago... no time for anime anymore though, just bleach and naruto manga now. frown.gif.

How were you able to get a picture of the tearing, that looks like a screenshot...

If it's a screenshot, then it might be your vid card, more likely than the TV.

If it doesn't tear on normal stuff it's because it's your antenna, it's broadcast @ 30hz.

Have you tried setting the resolution to 1920 x1080 @59 hz?
What happens when you use it as an extended desktop instead of a duplicated display, or use the TV as the primary display with no monitors?
Does the tearing happen in DA2 with V-sync enabled?

(I will ask a barrage of questions as this goes along, bear with me and we might be able to resolve it)

bolded text is from everests display information tab. picture is photoshopped but i promise thats exactly how it looks. the majority of my anime is 23.98 FPS. i do not know how to change my refresh rate anymore(i forgot how)with windows 7 and ati drivers. im having a lot of trouble setting my monitor as my main device as well the checkbox is greyed out and the TV keeps defaulting as the main monitor so i had to set it to duplicate. i always enable v-sync in DA:2

I BELIEVE THERE I NO TEARING WITH TV SET AS THE ONE AND ONLY DEVICE, this is the first good sign and now i can finally use it as intended TYVM.

i believe the only problem now i finding out how to set the TV as display 2 and monitor as main display to test... the checkbox to designate main display is greyed out.

It's been fixed! thank you Nocturin, answering your questions helped troubleshoot it. ao no exorcist is showing no tearing(very fast action) now with TV set as secondary display.

One mystery down and one to go. biggrin.gif

drivers updated?

How is the monitor connected? I'm assuming the TV is HDMI?

i couldnt see the checkbox to set monitor as main display was available when in extended mode because the TVs too far away and that had the dialog. for some reason it was tearing only in duplicate mode
