Is the kingwin 1000 watt lazer or the corsair gaming series 800 watt a better choice for a sandy bridge set up with 2 570's in sli
post #2 of 9
Either will work great for 570's in sli. Not familiar with there "gaming" PSU's.

Stupid, but effective, marketing tactics

JG hasn't looked at the GS800, but Gabe has.

but the ripple is bit high for a Corsair (by CWT) unit, but we're used to seeing fairly exceptional performance from Corsair, even on their mainstream units.
JG has looked at the Kingwin Lazer 1000w.

If efficiency is your goal, the GS800 hits silver, and has the renowned Corsair warranty, this Kingwin doesn't hit bronze.
But in general, the Kingwin is a bit better, it's partly modular, and has reasonable ripple and good voltage regulation. This is based on them being similar price to you.

corsair for $113.00 (5 yr warranty) and the kingwin for $119.00 (3 yr warranty)

750W would be perfectly adequate for that setup.
Get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139021, it'll do a fine job. If for some reason you're set on getting 800+ watts then forget about the GS800 and get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139022 instead, it's a superior unit and it's cheaper to boot.

Neither, get the TT Toughpower XT 775W for 120$, is better than both by a large margin.
