ok so im a bit stumped.

im looking for a new GFX card/s for my sig rig i already have a GTS-450 Card in the build and i NEED an upgrade.

i have about £200 for any Single card, that i will later SLI,

i dont game much but when i do i like all the graphics up high with lots of AA,
res im running currently is 1920X1200 single 43"monitor,

im considering keeping the 450 as a Physx card.

the problem i have is do i wait for the next gen cards to come out (which as far as im aware will be Q2 2012?????) or do i buy a high end card now?!?

the store i will be buying from is here

cheers in advance.

DO NOT get the 560.. it will be a huge waste of money as it is the = to a 460 basically. if u want a 560 get the 560ti which is an upgrade. otherwize get one or 2 460's in sli if u want an upgrade

BS. If you can afford a GTX 560 Ti great, if you can't (but can afford a GTX 560) do so. It'll overclock easier and higher than a GTX 460 (since its a Ti chip with one streaming multiprocessor disabled).

Speculation says next gen cards are due out approximately late Jan - mid Feb time frame. If you can, wait it out.

What do the next gen cards bring? 15%-30% more performance with 50% less power consumption to run it is the buzz. Pricing will compare to current prices. You can outweigh at that time if the newer gen cards is the way to go or wait till prices drop further on current gen cards.

Here is an article that explains the differences between AMD's chips and Nvidia's chips coming out. AMD might be cutting corners to be out on time.

Southern Islands, Kepler, and Apples A6 process puzzle outdated.

Here's where I read about the time frame being pushed back to 2012 Q1.

Kepler 28nm to launch in Q1 2012

If you can't wait it out with your new rig then get the Gainward GeForce GTX 580. You'll be gaming with maxed settings right away. I looked at that site you showed and this was the best qaulity card for price IMO.

Plus the free Batman Arkum City game is like money off that card price. In the United States it's a $50 and a great game, even uses Physx to utilize your card further.

Nvidia will also keep the door open for hardware accelerated 3D Vision gaming and watching 3D blu-ray movies if you should want to keep that door open.

A GTX 580 is a beast of an over clocker as well. No issues.

Eventually you can SLI it for a lower price after they drop. Amazing combo. Beats any crossfire/SLI options out there right now except two dual GPU's naturally.

After you think it over let us know what you decide. Good luck bud.

I am looking forward to Tri SLI GTX 680s on an AX850, that would be sooo sick.

But I would recommend getting a current gen card. You can always sell it in the end. Sell the card one month before the new card arrives, when the new gen card comes, last gen card automatically drops in value by half.

Myself i'ld wait if you can still play games at med settings.
If you could afford a GTX580 now that would be another matter but since your budget is £200 wait until the new cards arrive and retailers lower their prices to shift the stock.

Took me months to get my sig rig together but i'm glad I waited as it's a joy to use
