you could always get a more generic case, easily drop $50 off that....

however, my only issue, and this is from first hand experience, is ur psu. i had an 850 version, and it didnt last long.

I cant imagine that machine needs anything close to 800w, you can pick up a high end Antec 650w True power new for around $80...that should be plenty

Wishlist

That's what I would do with 1000 budget (minus OS), not sure how much lower you wanna go, more could be saved by getting a GTX 560 ti or AMD 6950...maybe save a little more on Hard drive but I don't see the point of getting half the drive space just to save 15 dollars. Spend the extra 30 definitely getting 8GB of ram, there's already games that tap out 4GB..it would be a shame to start getting lag spikes just because you skimped out on ram.

Other than that, more can be pinched from the case with a lower end less featured case. Even more could be pinched by getting a different PSU...it just comes down to what you can do without and what you need from your system.

He says he's thinking about doing SLI in the future, which would need that much power over head.

Hey if you know of a Microcenter anywhere you could get the 2500k for 180 plus the Maximus IV for 50$ less. Don't know if they still have that deal.

I read that, but he also said he wanted to save money, and the number of people I see that say that "want" to go SLI vs the number who go through with it is a huge difference. Hell I said I was going for a second 5870...lol

Went for the Samsung Spinpoint 1 tb and Ripjaw 8gb(2x4) that was suggested.
Rosewill Challenger 49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147153
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MKII 80 SilverPlus 750w power. 89.99 Good deal?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703027
i5-2500k will be from ncix.
http://us.ncix.com/products/index.ph...2&promoid=1208
Will likely go with a GTX 560ti from ASUS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121425
ASROCK Z68 extreme 3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157271
Total would be around 800 without 100 os. Hoping to snag a free one from someone who is going to college. Any other suggestions or better products for its value?
