I think the two different colors of the RAM is a very nice touch. applaud.gif

I wondered if it would fit myself, but it works great, not even close to kinking anywhere.

Yeah I did that when I bought it for my original MIVE:

Very nice sir.

That system is a whole lotta whoompus stuffed into one tiny case. It kinda reminds me of the Apollo 13 conundrum .

Looking forward to more.

Oh and you said you installed windows from the thumb drive, can you elaborate a little more on that?

You can get the windows ISO's on the microsoft website, and they have their own nifty tool to image it onto a thumb drive and make it bootable. I don't remember the exact links to it as I've had a windows bootable USB stick for probably 3 years now, I just moved it to a bigger and faster USB 3.0 one. It installs windows 7 in roughly 10~12 minutes.

I'm waiting right now on word from corsair on if I can get a spare 24 pin and 8 pin connector for the PSU, so far its been 3 weeks and I sent them 4 emails, no response. No responses on the forum either. I might have to make time during the day at work to call them.

I'm actually in love. Everything on this rig has been done properly, there's been no half measures. Props!

Thanks guys, I'm having trouble deciding if I want to carry on with this build. It has been fun so far but I really want to be able to show off the stuff inside of there, and this case is so cramped its very difficult. I'm taking a break to get some other things straightened out, and either I will tear this back down and remove the rest of the inside supports for more space or I will be moving to a different case. This was a "can it be done" kind of thing, and even though it came out ok so far I'm not super happy with the result.

Oh no, I think that would be a shame. Surely with a large window on the water pump side, and a smaller window on the cpu side, you can showcase most of what's going on in there without it looking too cramped.

So the decision has been made, I'm going to be moving to a new case, but still mATX. All of the components will remain exactly the same, only the case will change, and it will still need a little bit of fabbing to bit the rads. After a little more planning and measuring I think I will order the case tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to put a bit more time and effort into it now that I'm moving to a new case. I was pretty rushed on this build in order to get a working computer up since I gave my backup rig to my dad. To facilitate this, I grabbed this little fella off of the forums:

img0138lp.jpg
img0139sl.jpg
img0140cqu.jpg

Its a modified SG05 to fit a full size ATX PSU and a full size GPU, since it comes with the mobo, RAM, and PSU it will then be getting an i3 2100, an HD 6870 and one of my spare 2.5" HDD's to use as a reliable backup for basic gaming and whatnot.

I also have these on the way from our very own Lutro0 (and part of the reason for wanting a better case to show off the gear):

dsc08753o.jpg

dsc08761b.jpg

They look great, and he built them live on livestream so I could watch. I highly recommend them if you're looking for some nice extensions.
