Where to go from here.

Ok, so I recently rebuilt my system and got a AM3+ compatible MoBo in hopes of BD being a beast. Right now it is running a 1055T, I'm mostly a gamer. Should I just eat the loss on the $200+ board and make the switch to a 2500k? Right now I'm running crossfired 6850's, am I being bottlenecked by my current CPU? All I can say is that I'm not currently happy with the performance I'm getting and I'm leaning towards making the plunge.

I don't know if it'd be a good idea to take a $200 loss.. but you'd probably get better game performance out of a 2500k, yes.

Is there a worthy AMD alternative for gaming?

right now I would have to say that best perf for gaming is a 2500k, no doubt about it.
You could try and sell the board, not take that much of a hit.
Or overclock the cr@p out of your cpu and see if you can get a little more out of it.

Since you have a AM3+ motherboard, I wouldn't switch to an 1155 board, they would waste so much money that you could use on a graphics card.

To be honest I would get one of the new FX CPU's. (A bunch of hate, but in reality its basically just as good as a I5 2500k.)
