Thread Starter
Ok so this is the first build that im OC and i OC the i5 to 4Ghz @ stock vcore. and now im trying to OC to 4.5. and i read that i need to up the vcore and i did up it to 1.390 in bios but my problem is everytime i run CPUZ or HW Monitor it shows the core voltage is 1.044 V. Why is that? Am i doing something wrong?

Probably not. You most likely still have C1E, C3/C6 and all the power saving features on either auto or enable. So your cpu is downclocking and undervolting. When you are at load it will rev back up. At 4500mhz those settings should be fine left enabled or auto. If you wanna push 5Ghz you may have to disable the power saving features though. 1.39v sounds like too much for 4500mhz as well, maybe try lower.

@ gotasavage2 : I did that i saved them before exiting. and still the same.

@ Chuckclc : what is C1E, C3/C6? and how do i find out all the power saving option? Yeah i figured it pretty high cause i've seen others get 4.5 and only lower than mine. Ok i'll try and see what i could disable.

I thankfully have not had no issues at 4.5ghz. I just basically turned off PLL Overvoltage set the Vcore to 1.275 and the Multiplier to 45 left all power saving features on as well.
