Couple of months. A 5 minute 1920x1080 Fraps recording takes up 40GB

Have about 7Tb + 2-3Tb on different servers about 60% is full so 58Tb about 4-5 years.
Well if you buy Hitachi hard drives, it would only last me 2-3 years, regardless of how much data I store on them. ;D

Ha! I would probably have to buy 58 1TB HDDs and find out, I could get it and suddenly think, Hey, I got 58TB, I'll never use it all, And suddenly i use up 40TB on movies and games.

But as my current thought, I could barely use 2TB

It's not so much the drives cost that's a problem, the controllers alone are likely going to cost you small fortune to run such an array. Your talking a heck of a lot of money to get your plan going.

I got my raid card for $120 on ebay, its a LSI MegaRaid SAS 8708EM2 and I am looking for an HP SAS expander right now but that is going to cost me about $250.

About 5-7 years.
This is why I am so afraid of the SSD limited write/sector lifetime.
