Engraved keys have a lot more texture than the lasered keys. Something to note is that with engraved keys the letters aren't too visible since the color isn't changed at all. With lasered keycaps you'll be able to see the letters better and have a smoother keycap. Personally, I'd rather have lasered keys over engraved keys.

Right now I need advice on purchasing this keyboard from WASD. I saw that the default font is Arial of the Semi Customized ($119) KB. What if I just want the default font to change to Futura? Does anybody know if I have to pay extra just for the default font?

Thanks

EDIT: I just spoke with someone from WASD and they said that change of fonts will be considered as FULL customization which will cost $140.

Don't let that stop you, I went all out on mine and am overly pleased. I get many compliments on the keyboard and couldn't be happier.

Yea, if you've got to pay $140 for a font change, might as well get the rest of the changes that you really want = )

I went into all this trying to justify a Leopold over a Filco. But now after all this feedback, I am strongly considering the WASD. With the colored keycaps, a Leopold can be more expensive than the WASD.

Any more feelings on the stabilizers?

Leopold fullsize are on sale at EK right now for $99....

Some people dont like the cherry stablizers on the leopold saying they are too mushy, but I personally dont mind them.. I have both costar and cherry style keyboards to compare also.

You are absolutely correct, however after $12.50 for shipping- and different colored keycaps it the price isn't so close anymore. If you were okay with the all black then I guess there is no problem.

Great- are there any more differences? I am aware that the Cherry keycaps are easier to replace compared to the Costar (correct me if I'm wrong).

But I would get the leopold plus some PBT keycaps.... that is getting around the same price as the WASD full custom but better keycap quality or some nice doubleshot keycaps.... the only benefit to WASD if you plan on going crazy on the design and unqiue colors...

PBT

Cherry Doubleshots

SP Doubleshots

Also yes cherry stablizers are easier to swap out keycaps, but once you learn how to do it on the costar stablizers its not that much harder but a little bit more time consuming.
