Need help with new deathadder!

EDIT 10/23/11 Please post your deathadder setting.. I still cant get this bad boy to feel right.. I would like to see what settings you guys/girls are using. MAYBE IM MISSING SOMETHING? Ok guys solved the freezing issue , with a fresh driver install.
2 MORE DAYS TILL BF3 (OH YEAH)

Ok i just replaced my lachesis 5600, that i owned almost 3 yrs. I actually was planning on another lachesis or g500, but they were sold out of both . I got the deathadder 3500.

Man it just doesnt feel good at all. I am using a stealseries soft gaming mat. But it still drags, not smooth at all ,and doesnt work well on my desktop either. WHAT SURFACE WORKS BEST FOR THE DEATHADDER?

Also it stops working when i walk away ( freezes) and i have to unplug it , even had to retstart to get it to work again.
It just doesnt seem loose enough, but when i turn it up its to uncontrolable. I understand there is a learning curve , but i was playing bfbc2 tonight and it just isnt working for me. So i guess im asking if there is anything i can do before i s###can it, and get something else.

Its brand new and if i can make it feel good i want to keep it. I really loved my lachesis

You might want to return the mice if its freezing and the only way to fix it is to unplug the cord.

Which SteelSeries pad are you using? The mouse works fine on the QCK+/Heavy I know for sure as I've used it on both in the past.

Its the QCK, and it worked great with my lachesis, and my logitech m705,but the deathadder feels a little rough ,just seems to drag slightly.

I had the same problem with my DA:BE on three different pads including the Qck Heavy. RMA'd for refund. 2nd Razer product I've returned for refund in the past year. Three strikes and you're out Razer

Oh, did you update your new Razer DeathAdder to the newest firmware and driver?

The symptoms happen to you as the same as they happen to my Imperator and 4HD. When I put Imperator on 4HD, the mouse need more time to realize this mousepad than Razer Mantis Control and sometimes the mouse stop working without reasons or sometimes it lags about 1 second (enough to get me killed in CSS).

I think you should buy another mousepad such as QCK+. If the problems do not go away, then you may want to return this mouse and try other mice.

I've been using the DA + Func Archetype 1030 combo for 4 years and it's the closest to frictionless I've used.

I don't believe the Func is produced anymore, but a similar plastic surface would work.

Still has them. The store on there site is just "temporarily unavailable" apparently.

Also used the same pad before I switched to a Talent. I absolutely love my talent with the g400.

you could try doubling up the mouse feet? I have the same problem with my DA, the belly of the mouse was dragging on my QCK because the stock feet were so thin - I put another set of feet on top of the stock ones and it was fine.

the whole freezing thing doesn't sound good though, did you make sure the old drivers were completely removed before installing the DA ones?

Where do you get the feet! Do they have them on the razer site?

I honestly suggest not even using the drivers unless you need them. I'm sure Razer has a set of feet you can buy, though I honestly suggest HyperGlides if you're gonna get new feet. I still think you should return the mouse for a new one as the "dying" and having to replug would get rather annoying.
