derp.
You don't need to do anything; it'll play Blu-ray flawlessly as it ships.

on the 1215N you can overclock the cpu and gpu for more speed and maybe format it and put the latest drivers on it. I remember I had my D525 run at 2+ ghz without a hitch. but that wont make it much faster though tbh. you need a CULV cpu for that.
I guess I thought that netbooks would be a lot more powerful 1 year later. Anyways how would you suggest I go about reformating it? Also that is an amazing deal you got on your m11x.

The 1215N cost $500, and you're expecting "a lot more powerful" for 67% less.

Edit: It still goes for nearly the same price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834230035

Need is the wrong word. I meant you did not refer to me upgrading ram on my 1215n but instead referred to upgrading the ram to the netbook in the link.

I would recommend going to this forum for tons of info about the 1215N,
http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus...rformance.html

and just do a clean install of windows 7 64-bit, download the latest drivers for the nvidia card; 285.38. and go from there with other drivers. but go to the thread I posted, a lot of people have posted on it, and you can ask questions there as well.

and yes the m11x isnt a rare find at that price, watch dell outlet and they have 25% off coupons all the time (how i got the price) and go for one, going from a netbook to one of these was night and day. I pinmodded mine as well to get even more speed (I'm power hungry) it plays dead island, and fallout new vegas, just cause 2, etc.

this is my m11x:

Seems I need to get an external DVD drive and I checked the dell outlet and the m11x was $800 so I guess I will wait for black friday to see if the prices drop.

my old eeepc 1000ha n270+gma950 plays 720p fine, with coreavc or ffdshow threaded codec, or divx h264

i am sure 1080 is nothing for an nvidia ion, the problem is you, just read about dxva, media player classic home cinema, cuda,

download
mpc-hc
lav cuvid

that is all

or just mpc-hc

My 1005HA just can't play HD video no matter what :S

PM me please and tell me hwo you got to play HD video smoothly!

Anyway, OP, your current netbook is fine. what you need to do is:

* Add more RAM (at least 4GB of RAM, I think your netbook can run up to 8GB)
* Maybe install a 7200rpm hard drive.
* Make a clean install and put the latest drivers, updates and codecs on it.

That, alone, should improve things by a great margin.
