why does my game not run at 60 fps? - Page 3

I'd say this is more of an issue with the way the game is optimized and less of a graphics card issue. There is so many things to consider in an MMO like server lag, textures , shadows etc. etc. The more people on screen the more textures, shadows etc have to be rendered. I'm betting you don't have that problem at all in single player games, FPS etc.

(had overclock-net 500 server error for a while there)

Just pulled up Metro 2033, because I was not 100% certain of the FPS i gave you in my last post and I noticed that my GPU's were not beeing used 100% and my FPS was 30-40. I remember my GPU's beeing used 100% when I last ran the game
That sounds like a driver issue.

It's merely lag. Your ping may be great, your system may be uber, but lag is the great equalizer. I bet if you ask anyone in the raid, they experienced the same drop in FPS. I get it often on City of Heroes - smokin along at 60, then whack, down to 20-30 if I'm on a full team and there's a ton of activity on screen. (or a global event, everyone complains...there's an invasion and everyone's hangin at 10-15 fps).

I ditched the bf3 beta drivers after the beta because I was having issues in a few games. I'd switch drivers. You may see a bit of difference but honestly I'd say the issue you're having is a fairly normal 1 for any current MMO. Its just the nature of the beast.

Yes, wow is on my SSD as stated earlier.

What Driver is said to be the best for a GTX 580 SLI setup at the moment?

Disable vsync? I noticed it was enabled and scanned through the posts and didn't see anyone saying to disable it. Unless you already tried. Also, While raiding on maxed settings, I've heard that people get low fps and they have had high end graphic cards.

check Leatrix Latency Fix and see if that helps it in oggy.

Also, what MB internet pipe do you have?

I wouldnt waste a SSD on WoW, but running raid on my old Hitachi 160gb drives I used to have running at around 180mbps was fast enough to load before anyone else. But I havent played WoW since they patched @ 4.0

FYI SLI/CFX does not work so well for WoW and never has for as long as I think its been around. Unless they upgraded the game engine to actually work alot better with it. But I have never seen anyone run the game at your resolution.
