[TIMN] Nokia N9 Review - Page 3

I would love to have a n950. Maybe one day Nokia will decide to tweak them a bit and then release them (hint for Nokia: you already have the OMAP 4xxx working, just use that).

I thought the UI was great, and to me better than Android (Gingerbread). But once I saw Android 4 (ICS) I then realized that Android 4's UI was in one word: Epic. It's a major slap in the face to WP 7, and iOS. Sad that Nokia is out of the game pretty much now. If you had a high end Nokia in Europe even 2 years ago, you were considered privileged.

What changed so much in Ice Cream? To me, the biggest changes were the aesthetics. While that is important, it doesn't fundamentally change the way it works.

Watch the video I posted earlier (not the OP but just a couple down on the main page). This video explains why the Android/Symbian and iOS UI's are flawed (though the video states that the Nokia design team has 130+ things they think they can/should change in Swipe UI to make it even better).

This greatly upsets me. If this could run Android apps(which it prob can with ease) then it would give Windows Phone a run for its money. I hope these features are picked up by Google to include in Android. If nokia could get the Amazon Appstore or the Market on here, it would give a ton of Android phones are run for their money. Too bad Nokia brought this in almost a year too late, and have now whored themselves out to MS

I still stand by the fact that the Nokia N70 is the best phone I have ever owned. That thing was such a beast.

You can buy it on Amazon, but no carrier officially sells it. It's around 700-900 bucks.

While not as flexible as the n900, the n9 is still open and unlocked, so the sky is the limit.
