messing about with old rig

Thread Starter
hello, first off sorry if this is out of place.

specs.......
amd 64 939 2.2ghz
asus a8n-sli premium
1gbx2 ocz pc 3200 3-3-3-8 400mhz
dual 7800 in sli
700 watt sli PSU
liquid cooled

Ive been tweaking my old rig as far as I can push it. Ive ran memtest86 for 8hrs straight with no errors & BurnInTest 7.0 multiple times, passing each run. the rig seams stable. it boots up & runs fine. prime95 fails immediately.

tweaked setting via bios......
ram @ 333mhz, Cas(tcl)3, (tras)8t, (trcd)3t, (trp)3t
Hyper Transport freq @ 5x
cpu @ 2.8ghz
cpu multiplier @ x10
cpu voltage @ 1.55v
ddr voltage @ 3v
chipset voltage @ +1.6v
HT voltage @ +1.25v
pci express clock @ 110mhz
pci clock sync mod (to cpu)

I can get my ram to do 400mhz but only at small cpu oc speeds
do any of you see a problem or something that can go further.

thank you.

Disable PEG Link

Underclock the CPU. Lower the multiplier and start raising FSB (slowly from 200) testing memory as you go.

are you referring to the vid cards or telling me to start over ?

I did drop the multiplier from 11 to 10, my FSB is currently @ 280.
I can only get these settings to work when I drop my ram freq. to 333mhz from 400mhz.
it all seams stable. also PEG link mode is disabled but the other PEG settings are @ auto.

thanks.

FSB x Multi = CPU Speed (280 x 10 = 2.8 ghz (way overclocked!)
FSB X Divider = Memory Speed (280 x 400/333 = 233 way underclocked!)

You have to change the CPU speed and the memory speed separately, or you won't know (like you don't know now) which is failing.

Drop the multi to 7 (280 x 7 = 1.96 ghz), then overclock the memory.
Then drop the divider to like 100, with Multi at 11, and start raising FSB again.
