Find out what a hard drive is through software?

Thread Starter
I bought a PC from iBuyPower 2 years ago and I still have the hard drive. However, the company tore the label on the drive (so I would not be able to RMA I assume) so I cannot find out what it is. All I know is that it is 1TB.

Is there anyway to find out what it is?

Try installing Speedfan and going to the S.M.A.R.T tab of the program.
Should tell you what hard drive you have.

Yeah, ditto. Look in your bios under bootable devices.

+1 for BIOS. It'll show you a model number (like WDC0418403985 or something), then you can google search on that model # to find out exactly what it is.
