Cuad is one of the few people who cant tell the differences or is simply Tone deaf.

Another option for the Op is the Audiotrak prodigy cube which is $99 dollars and is a good external usb dac amp for his laptop, The only other smaller usb dac amp is the Fiio E10 which isn't for sell yet.

I suggested the cube to a friend and he enjoying it alot with his AKG 240 MKII's. It does have a machine dip-8 op-amp socket as well tho the op prolly wouldn't change them but just letting him know any way.

As for the AD700 I enjoyed it when I had After a while tho Its Highs was hurting my ears as the main reason I had to move from it.

While he's right in this scenario, that a Fiio e7 would be more appropriate than using a USB headset or the onboard sound on their laptop, there are much better buys for USB DACs if the laptop owner doesn't need it to be portable.
What other USB DACs would you recommend?

*EDIT* Just a note, I would prefer a portable DOC. I would also like it to have a low latency performance if that's possible with a portable DOC.

One time I did say, because they sounded the same, that I would take the FiiO E7 over my titanium HD because the FiiO was portable. That's what you're referring to isn't it? I have never said that the FiiO E7 sounded better than anything other than my laptop onboard and the onboard in an older computer.

I went to an audiologist and an otolaryngologist. My ears are fine.

You've actually tested yourself for tone-deafness/tin ear?

FiiO E7 actually has a good DAC in it. Although, the Titanium HD has a better DAC.

Cuad has said some ridiculous things, but this is not the worst.
