ASUS 6970 DurectCUII overclock

Thread Starter
I've been toying with my overclock on my ASUS 6970, and so far I've concluded that my max core clock for stability is 920MHz, I'm still going upwards on my memory clock (at 1545MHz atm).
Can it really be true that my memory clock can run that high, when my core clock fails at anything above 920MHz?

You will need to increase the stock voltage to stabilize higher OC clocks. There is an option in CCC Overdrive PowerSetting +20% that will allow the card to draw more power. It is true memory can go that high but ECC will normally kick in 1450-1500 resulting diminishing performance. Once you pass that, the performance gain will outweigh the errors.

Run some benchmarks to find out performance gain/loss of the core/memory OC clocks such as Unigine Heaven, 3DMark Vantage, 3DMark 11 etc.

I don't know what you are using to adjust voltage. Asus Smart Doctor, under settings to enable "Overclock Range Enhancement" and it increases the CCC max core clock to 1620 MHz and memory to 2500MHz and voltage adjustment.

MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta8 is another tool but it will not work with CCC Overdrive Power Settings.

Good lucks.

Been away all weekend so just got the reply. I was using Afterburner to overclock and GPUTool to test for stability.
Smart Doctor screws up my computer totally and I read Afterburner was good, so that's what I'm using. Are you saying that won't work as well?
