Hi,

Im in the process of building a new server, mostly for storage purposes, but i have some issues with it being stable, some parts i had, some are new, here is what i assembled,

CASE:

(already own it)
PSU: (already own it)
CAGES:
NICs: Built in the mobo, Intel 82574L
MOBO:
CPU:
Memory:
Sata ports:
HDD: (will add another 8 by years end).

PROBLEM

1st day after aseembly,
When i turn it on, it will boot fine to bios, but when WHSv1 started loading for installing, it will turn off, multiple times, i couldnt install.

2nd day
After letting it rest, i move the ram to the other 2 banks, re connected all power plugs, change the outlet on the UPS, went with very little sata conection, no HBA. This time the PC manage to pass the windows loading files to prepare to format, and finish installing, it went fine all day, isntall all drivers, updated windows without a single hickup, so i figure i had something installed wrong and upon rechecking it got fixed.

One week later
I couldn't do much this week cause of working outside town, but yesterday, i decided to check the server again, and had couple of issues again. First, I was able to enter bios with del, and all was fine, but once windows started and saw the logging screen the mouse n keyboard didnt respond, like the USB ports were dead, i tried all USB ports with no success, i rebooted like 4 times more and all were the same, until i left it alone in the logging screen for like 15mins, then i had a small screen flash/blink, to my surprise, the mouse n keyboard were working again, so i manage to enter windows fine. At first sight i though it might be the PSU, Antec CP850, since i had a similar issue 3 years ago with Gigabyte board with endless resets lops, but since i had the issues with the USB ports this time and im running a laptop drive for OS,(i think laptop drives use 5v instead of 12v like desktops), then i went to check the PSU, here a HWinfo32 screenshot,

Now the wierd thing, is once it has some time running, its stable, i ran prime95 for 8 hours, and memtest86++ for 4 hours, not a single glitch. Its like something needs to warm up. You can see on the HWinfo screen that 5V bounces till 4.6V, but once the computer been running for an hour or so, its dead stable at 5.0008. I also have crappy psu tester around so decided to try it out, here a screen shot,

I also have an extra mobo here that i could try, , not sure if its worth a try or you guys think its the PSU (its almost 3 years old) or any other thing that you would like me to try?

Thanks again for spending the time on reading this long post,
