Mounting H100 in rear exhaust(Antec 1200)

Thread Starter
This isnt meant to be a guide, just showing you how I mounted my H100 in my Antec 1200 rear exhaust. Before I did this case mod Folding would yield 68 degrees max on the hottest core. Now I have been folding the same WU for 1 hour and the hottest core is 64 degrees max averaging at 62. I can also feel by putting my hand near the rad that a ton of air is coming out the back of my case unlike before, this is with the H100 set to the first fan profile(low). I am also using Gentle Typhoon AP-15s plugged into the H100. I am pleased with the results.

Previously I had the H100 mounted in the rear exhaust. It sat crooked and the hot air didnt have a direct path out the rear of my case. Today I decided I was going to cut a hole in the back of my 1200 to fit the H100 properly.

I used a hack saw, Sawzall, wire cutters, and electrical tape.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, its all I got.

This is what I started with.

After I cut the rear out.

This is what I use so I dont screw into the rad fins. Its a fan screw from the H100, and a spring from the Dark Knight cpu mounting system.

Mounted the H100

Finished product.

You can mount it in the front ok, the case like my 360rad. By useing L brackets or you can accually but some 5.25 fittings from FrozenCPU If you dont want to mod at all.

Can you explain it a bit more cuz I still don't get it ? I saw some people mount it further back of the case with some long nails. Any ideas ?

go for it buddy! although i'm not sure if this can do damage long term. but it fits easily if you only mount the bottom fans to the case and let the others just sit.

excuse my awful lighting, my cellphone is my camera.
