Verizon Galaxy Nexus vs Sprint's Epic 4G Touch Galaxy S2

Even though there's a thread about Galaxy Nexus, I want to link in the carrier side as well. Now that we know the specs, it seems like the Epic 4G Touch has a better CPU but the Galaxy Nexus has better screen, ergonomics and software. Epic 4G Touch might get 4.0 upgrade, haven't heard any word about official confirmation or not that it will.

Also with the carrier it seems the only possible carriers for Galaxy Nexus is Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, out of those I'd want Verizon. Epic 4G Touch obviously Sprint, which has unlimited text and data for $70/mo with from what I hear slow network speeds, while Verizon has unlimited text and 2gb of data for $90/mo, but the best network speeds, not to mention they're rolling out a lot more LTE around the US currently. The phones themselves are Galaxy S2 can be bought currently for $100, with regular price of $200 and Galaxy Nexus is $300 regular price but so far nothing about any sales.

Verizon and Galaxy Nexus

vs

Sprint and Epic 4G Touch Galaxy S2

its actually $80 a month because of premium data, and its fast enough to stream netflix HD on 2-3 4g bars

verizon is no doubt faster, but i still use wifi when i can, and thats faster still

and if radioshack gets the nexus anytime soon im sure it will have some sort of launch discount, they generally do something on high end phones

Oh yeah you're right it is $80/mo just checked, forgot about the extra $10 which to be honest is ridiculous considering not everybody has 4G yet for them to even have that.

What's your average sprint speeds? From all the talk lately it's been slow, and even slower now from iPhone 4S launch.

The extra $10 a month after 70 is not for 4G. It's the Premium Data smartphone fee.

May be a different carrier then that charges $10/mo extra if you have a 4G phone or I'm having memory fail.

I have the Epic 4G touch. Nice phone but mired by Sprints stupid network. Every Saturday the tower in my hood goes down. Sucks because when we leave are neighborhood, the phone becomes a beast. 4G speeds increase 20 fold because we live in a 4g area. As for the Galaxy Nexus, I wonder why they would do such a thing with that phone and put a 5MP camera on a phone which has the highest resolution to date 1280 x 720. If anything I feel like these odd flaws don't stand up the the real Galaxy S2. The Nexus G was a bust, and to top it off there is no SC card expansion. But, talk of it being a worldphone and having a sim card, might persuade me to get one and go with T-Mobile just to say I had it.

Other tan that the Galaxy S2 variants have this phone beat.

when im at home its pretty bad TBH, but i live in a pretty small town away from major cities, and i have wifi at home, so im not too bummed

at work i can stream netflix, other than that i havnt done a speedtest, i work in a mall in factoria, which is an upper-class area so of course 4g coverage is flawless

sprint is rolling out alot of upgrades, well, everyone is really, so that could change too

When I have strong 4g its as fast or faster than TWC home internet.

12M/1.5M dl/ul was the fastest.. but closer to 6M/1M is a good strong signal.

Sprint is a good value, from that point of view. The data has generally been reliable, even tho 3g used to be 2M down and now 800 k down is avg.

Thats still solidly broadband internet. Also the upload is good and they seem to have better coverage than att, among people I know.

Sprint is not that
Would help if you worded it better, or more if you gave more detail. Sounds like you're talking about Verizon and saying Sprint isn't like that.
