Can someone correct or confirm my thought process? So you have apps like itunes on the ssd, but the music files are all on the hdd and these files are linked to the itunes somehow?

Yes, iTunes would be on SSD, all the music on HD..just have to drag music files into iTunes library window..and it adds them.
