thanks.

On their own... preferably in another room.

Be sure to have a good pump. I'd even go as far are getting an Iwaki pump next to the chiller in the other room with a 24v PSU.

That ought to keep everything cool and keeping your 1gpm.

Honestly, if I were to use a chiller I would have a dual-loop. I'd also try to locate it outside the house, I know that is not always feasible.

Loop #1: Chiller to reservoir [5-10 gallon]
Loop #2: Reservoir to PC. Maybe a heat exchanger to keep the water from the two loops separate.

This will eliminate the need for the chiller to remain on continuously reducing wear on the unit.

Here's a store in the UK that sells chillers. Research the capacity you nee and then research the reliability of the particular chiller. That should make it a lot easier.

These units often chill the water down to below ambient so adding rads would cause the water temp to raise to reach an equilbrium.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...962&catid=2140 i dont know if these are any good, but i was supprised to see them on overclockers.

i got talking to one of my mates about them, and an arguement soon erupted about running a rad with one.

overclockers state that you should run a rad but i dissagree, im sure i read somewhere that adding a rad would hurt temps rather than improve them.

anyway he belives overclockers and i dont, bit childish i know but hey... we are all still kids at heart

Get your mate to read this
Quote:
This waterchiller basically replaces the radiator as the coolant is chilled to the desired temperature by this unit.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=2140&subcat=
And if OCUK are saying you need a rad aswell then maybe they should read their own listings

i know its a bit contradicting but the next paragraph is where it says the problem:

We recommend integration of the chiller into the cooling loop in combination with a radiator

i shown him this thread and he is still going to use his zalman resorator, so we have agreed to dissagree on this one lol
