The way I see it is if you want an iOS device your going to be get about 80% of what you get on an iphone on an itouch. So I say buy an itouch off craigslist and get yourself a proper android phone. iOS is not even fun enough to play with.

The people I know with iphones spend more time trying to find apps than spending time on the actual OS itself.I personally spend more time trying to find the next best rom and the next best combination of kernels and roms to make my phone perform 200% better

Already posted one example of the many file managers. You're just repeating yourself now? We've had a full fledged command line since 2007 as well. System customization apps modify configuration files for you as well if you don't want to do it yourself.

iOS backs up into the cloud as well. You don't have to restore from your computer.
You can create an exact image of your iPhone as a backup. All you have to do is ssh and copy /root or use rysnc or use all-in-one noob apps like iBares because you don't know what that means. And they say Android users aren't the dumbed down users...
You can download custom ROMs straight to your phone as well. You don't need a computer to update the iPhone.
You can even dual boot multiple OSs.

You don't have to place them on the notification bar. You can put them on your lock screen or homescreen. It's up to you how you choose to use them.

You can play 1080P just fine with 3GS using VLC. Hardware capabilities is the only limitation, not the OS.
You tried to claim that iOS couldn't play those files and now you say "it's a given"??

I said a non-rooted Android device has far more customization options than a non-jailbroken iOS device. Newsflash: not everyone wants to jailbreak/root their device.

You're the one that can't even concede the fact that Android has a more customizable UI than iOS. As if your Mac/iPhone/iPod is gonna stop working if you do so.

Nice to see you've backed tracked off of your Dashboard widgets argument as well.
Did I ever say you did say that? Stop using straw-man tactics every time you post to me. You claimed that you couldn't customize just as good and I've shown that to be incredibly wrong.

Now you're trying to change your argument and putting limitations on the two phones. There's so much more you can do with Android by rooting it and using custom ROMs that you're only hurting your point of view. Both OSs have incredible customization features.

You've done nothing but troll this thread and I'm at fault for being trolled by responding to you. Android did copy widgets from Dashboard just as Windows did with gadgets and DesktopX was NOT the first desktop implementation of widgets. Learn to use something else besides Windows your whole life...

What social networking does nokia do better that iOS or Android can't do?
Why would anyone want that n95 junk when they could get an iPhone or Android device? Not only that, why would anyone want to install one of the worst OS known to man: WinME? Or even the outdated 98 for that matter? That adds zero value to the phone.

Kind of illustrates the advantage of having a choice for different phones with different hardware, don't you think?

Ok so are you are clearly as thick as I thought. How could I hurt my argument if my argument this whole time has been about un-rooted/non-jailbroken devices?

Your second point is the stupidest thing I've read in years. DesktopX had widgets, it came before Dashboard. But for whatever reason Android copied widgets from Dashboard? Do you know what a web widget is btw? (preceded all three of them). Even if DesktopX wasn't the first to use desktop widgets it was released years before the "innovator" known as Dashboard. Does your argument still makes sense?

I cant believe you have the audacity to call me the troll in this instance...

What other Android phone could play 1080P at that time? None either. The 3GS is old. There's been two models since. EVO 4G wasn't even around when it was released.

You're not bright enough to understand that it was put in the OS by default in 2005 well before Windows decided to copy the idea and put it in their OS by default as well. You also seem to think that DesktopX invented desktop widgets... Widgets were on OS9 well before DesktopX came around.

You have changed your story so many times trying to limit the "rules" as how to you can customize your phone:

The fact is, you're whining about something that takes 10 seconds. Cydia is part of iOS. Apps are why we use these phones. Whether I unlock my phone so I can use it on any carrier I want makes no difference. It's part of the iPhone.

My argument applies to more than just that. Even if you take that out of the equation, you still have hardware choices with Android. Different cpu's, gpu's, screen sizes, battery capacites, etc........ Sounds like a skillfully circumvented point.

Are you sure the 3GS was able to play native 1080p video at that time? Even more so, MKV, WMV and other formats? I remember iTunes downscaling any video before syncing to a device.

In regards to file managers, I doubt these can edit system configs and do any noticeable change in the OS itself. If they do, then I guess we're even.

ROM management is differenton Android. Essentially you can reboot to a recovery mode, where you can do a number of things - backup the existing state of the device, restoring from a previous backup (even with a different OS version e. g. Froyo to Gingerbread) and the usual data wipe. Backups are done by the device for a few minutes, saving them as zip files to be saved in the internal storage. Custom ROMs are different depending on the developer; though all were built from the same Android AOSP source, they can make their own tweaks and additions. Some aim for a stock experience without bloatware, others heavily skin the system like MIUI. They can implement different kernels to suit their needs - some enable overclocking and voltage editing, others improve radio signal and battery life.

As to Widgets, I would like you to provide me with visual proof that Widgets on iOS are comparable in form and function as those in Android.
