Not sure why the Apple fanboys disagree with this, Apples OSes and hardware have always been fairly locked down. In fact, the restrictions Apple places on everything is part of what drives some to PCs and Android. Simultaneously it is also what a lot of people love about Apple, because that inflexibility prevents hardware/software segmentation.
This is OCN. When has a locked down bootloader of Android or iOS ever stopped us? Does a locked chip stop us? Nah, we'll use the pencil trick if we have to. I don't know why we would revert to the hello kitty level of understanding just because it's a phone. Especially with tools that do all the work for us. Jailbreaking is as easy as pie just like rooting. Don't let that be a barrier.

Also, people love to talk about putting custom roms on the TouchPad but somehow think it's forsaken to jailbreak an iPhone? People hating Apple just because it's Apple is pathetic. Brandtards...

Because the minute it takes to re-flash vanilla is soo hard... Rooting and custom ROMs aren't covered by warranty either. Oh, no, better not OC your CPU because it's not warrantied either. You're on the wrong enthusiast computer forum.

I am back with more popcorn. I got a suntan from working on my car while you've all been in here master debating this yawn-some topic some more.

EDIOT: I just figured out why all droid users first complaint about the iphone is you can't remove the battery, after an hour of hearing "DROID!" I'd want to remove the battery also.

Never had that problem of boot looping. It's either caused by an incorrect rooting method (assuming it is rooted) or generally caused by Verizon's bloatware shenanigans. Android in its pure state is just as stable as iOS.
