[GIZ] iPhone vs Android: Who Aged Better? - Page 4

guy i can tell you for a fact the Nissan GT-R is a very fast car, was lucky enough to take one to the track and got it up to 280Km/h. From 0-100Km/h took 3 sec and the Quarter mile took only 11.2 sec.

iPhone 4 - OMG SAME THING JUST LOOKS DIFFERENT (ie. 3.2MP to 5MP and 1Ghz.)
iPhone 4S - Haha not again man.... (8MP, dual core, 1gb ram, same thing though.)
Really showing your ignorance there.

iPhone 4 runs at 800Mhz, not 1Ghz. The A4 in the iPad is clocked at 1Ghz.
iPhone 4S has 512MB of RAM, not 1GB.

4S compared to the original iPhone is like night and day. GPU is about 15x as fast, 4x the RAM, processor is 8x as fast, camera is much better and now there are two, 4x the storage capacity, 4x as many pixels on the screen, better battery life, etc...etc...

Also, iOS is quite a bit better from 1.0 to 5.0, there are too many changes for me to take the time to list, feel free to go educate yourself.

Saying this is "OMG SAME THING" would be like me saying my AMD 2500+ Barton is really just the same thing as my i7 930. PCs are essentially the same now as 15 years ago right? Just evolved OSes, faster performance, and some new connectors. How stupid would someone sound if they tried to convince you that PCs haven't changed in the last 15 years? Pretty stupid? I'd hope so.

Saying that the iPhone hasn't changed over the years would be about as stupid as saying Androids haven't either. And before you go calling me an Apple fanboy, I'll just state now that I believe there are a few Android phones that are better than the 4S.

Kind of silly to compare the product of a single manufacturer to the product of an OS with many different manufacturers. Obviously there will be a continuity in Apple products but not in Android devices that are produced by many different OEM's....

I actually think the comparison between a GT-R and Porsche to be spot on. You can compare specs all day and into the night, but climb behind the wheel and I can absolutely guarantee none of you would take a GT-R over the Porsche (if you're into cars, anyways). I've driven both, have friends with R35 GT-Rs (one's getting a Switzer P800 kit soon, but that's a different story) and my dad had a 997 Carrera S which I drove many times before he sold it.

When it comes to driver involvement and fun, even the Carrera S is on a different planet compared to the GT-R and in a similar way, an iPhone is just a lot nicer to use than any Android phone (here comes the key part) that I have used. No, I haven't used them all and in fact I don't have any experience with the Galaxy S II or the other brand new ones which is why I never comment on them. All I know is I've had every iPhone since the 3GS and never had a single complaint with any of them. A lot of people I know love their Android phones but a lot of others have gotten rid of them and gone to iPhones, I can't think of a single person who went the other way.

The customer satisfaction surveys don't lie.

Just for debate's sake, lol.
No doubt, but Top Gear track times are well Top Bull sometimes, since the show is hardly scientific and more drama. Even so the Nissan has made a better 911 Turbo than Porsche and for much less. You'd need to step up to a 911 GT2 to match the GTR.

So which ones an R34 Skyline GT-R? Ill take one of those please

Car analogies are not really working guys. I think you know you've gone off topic when you're posting track times in a phone thread.

Yes, but did the Porsche get a wet or mildly moist lap?

...JK

Back on topic... nobody has mentioned the sturdiness of these phones. Just about everyone I know who owns an iphone has had to replace a broken screen at one point or another. Are they really too cheap to use Gorilla Glass?!

I'll admit that Apple makes nice looking hardware, but I can't stand how they try to force you into using their crapware for purchasing media and apps.

Never had to replace my screen, even after a 50ft drop out of a boom truck. Switcheasy case did a great job. Just sold the phone today for $200.

Should have the other 3GS sold tomorrow for the same price.

But, I now have a 4S. So who knows. I'm all kinds of ruff with them.

sounds dirty...

Personally I don't like things that feel stale. To me iOS feels stale. It's the customization, and personality you can impart on your phone that draws me to Android. The fact that with each iteration they have upped the aesthetics to the point where iOS no longer leads in that category is a huge plus.

I look at it this way, the Ms. iPhone was born pretty good looking, Ms. Android was kind of ugly. Android got in shape, got a new hair style, new clothes, etc, while iPhone just added a few accessories here and there for the sake of changing something. Now we've reached a point where both Android and iPhone are equally attractive in their own way.
