I've driven both, have friends with R35 GT-Rs (one's getting a Switzer P800 kit soon, but that's a different story) and my dad had a 997 Carrera S which I drove many times before he sold it.
When it comes to driver involvement and fun, even the Carrera S is on a different planet compared to the GT-R and in a similar way, an iPhone is just a lot nicer to use than any Android phone (here comes the key part) that I have used. No, I haven't used them all and in fact I don't have any experience with the Galaxy S II or the other brand new ones which is why I never comment on them. All I know is I've had every iPhone since the 3GS and never had a single complaint with any of them. A lot of people I know love their Android phones but a lot of others have gotten rid of them and gone to iPhones, I can't think of a single person who went the other way.
The customer satisfaction surveys don't lie.
I made the switch from iPhone to Android and haven't looked back since. I'm no raging fanboy and appreciate both for their pros and cons. At the end of the day though, Android provides me with the better platform (for me anyway). I had a 3G for some time, and when it was time to upgrade, with Android not being very popular here in Japan my pickings were slim. My carrier had just received the HTC Desire so I picked that up. Have had it for about a year now and I still would make the same decision today. Overall, it's the better phone to me. I've kept up with Apple's improvements to the iPhone since I've had my 3g, and while they fixed a lot of my complaints with iOS and the platform, Android was already a step ahead in that department. It's all user preference. I just wasn't very satisfied with the Apple experience and was thankful that I had Android to go to as an option.
