Simpler isn't just for those who don't care to learn, it's also for the people who don't want to waste time messing with it when they could be doing something productive instead.
Was this even a response to anything I said?

Nothing you said disputes anything I said is why I ask. Everything I said is still true....when it comes to phones. I never said this applies to all aspects of life, not sure why you went off on that worthless tangent.

Great, and that's why you own an iphone, it's exactly what you want.

If this is what you really believe regarding what you can customize with an android phone, then stop talking about them because you know nothing.

If you actually do realize there's much more to it than stuff like this, then it's clear this was a lame attempt to bash android.

I still cant believe the first iphone didn't have video recording. I got mine and didn't even look into it because I just assumed it would be featured, as all of my dumb-phones for the past 3 years before that had it. Also, looking back its funny how the first iphone wasnt marketed as a phone at all. There wasn't a discount for starting a plan with att, and there wasn't insurance.

Android was fugly. It's completely different now because every 'Nexus' phone and every OS update have brought dramatic changes... the futuristic realization of it all (no buttons, honeycomb-esque lines etc.)
So Apple is boring because they've been ahead of the game for all these years as "consistently cool yet coolly boring" and now that Android has "evolved" to be more like them they're the ones who are "unafraid to overhaul their very core" to become even more like a replica today?

Name what you want done to the iPhone that you don't know how to do. The iPhone has custom roms just like Android does. Your personal lack of knowledge of the phone doesn't make the product inferior.

Are you really going to try to make the argument that when it comes to customization, iphones and android phones are equal?

and don't act like you know anything when it comes to my knowledge of an iphone.

How is it that the new iteration of Android has become more of a 'replica' of iOS when even Honeycomb is miles different from iOS5 in terms of UI and functionality?

And custom ROMs on the iPhone are vastly inferior to custom ROMs on Android. You simply compare a slight change in a locked OS to one that can be completely revamped from the ground up with tons of system tweaks and edited functions.

More like iPhone? If anything in the last few years iOS has been more like Android. A lot of iOS5's new features were features we already had on Android. (notification center, reliance on the cloud just to name two)

and btw you dont need to root or install roms on an Android phone to customize it the way you want it.

Swipe to dismiss notifications is pretty awesome in Ice Cream Sandwich. Cant wait for iOS to "innovate" that feature.

Rather than trying to change the subject because you've realized you're incorrect, don't try to put words in other people's mouths to form straw-man arguments.

You made the claim that you can't customize the iPhone but have failed to point out what it is that you "can't" do. Your ignorance of the iPhone is the problem here.

That's exactly what custom ROMs do. "Sytem tweaks and edited functions" is exactly what is available on iPhone ROMs.

Instead of blindly accusing the iPhone of being incapable of customizing "system tweaks" you would be wise to point out exactly what it is you want to customize and I'll enlighten you.

Notifications have been on the iPhone for years. Again, another person who has no clue what he's talking about. How stupid would it be if I were to claim that "only recently" have custom roms been available to remove the bloatware pre-installed on Android phones? Your statement is exactly that. Just because you've only been aware very recently of the fact that iOS has had notifications when it's been there since 3G doesn't mean it's new. Apple recently decided to hire the developer officially.
