I think the FX cpu's are going to be great for gaming , just as good as the 26/500k .

Heavy cpu work and benchmark results , intel wins of coarse .

Most people that are going to buy this chip are going to be gamers .

Then they should buy a Phenom and save $150.

Why is it necessary to have 20+ threads that all state the same thing, and all have identical posts by users the feel cool saying 'faildozer' and AMD is pathetic blah blah blah... Shouldn't these all be in the Bulldozer review thread maybe make some space for some new news? Yes we are all disappointed in what AMD brought to the table, Yes AMD will do R&D to try and improve on this architecture, Yes you should probably buy 2600k if you are worried about getting max performance in almost all situations, I think we get it.......

the only real problem of BD is power consumption

1. This dude works for NCIX and all of his videos are advertisements. The only negative video he ever made was about a USB shaver. Why would he be honest about poor performance when it would hurt his companies profits?

2. He's running GPU limited games not CPU limited ones (Starcraft 2, Far Cry 2, GTA IV, etc) where CPU has little to no impact.

3. He's comparing it to the cheaper 2500k not the 2600k.

4. Why would you buy an 8 core CPU to play games?

EDIT - The games I listed in parenthesis are examples of CPU limited games. I wrote the post in a hurry so forgive me if it sounds a little weird.

This. If he threw that second card on there, the results would be very different.

You cannot say that a Honda Civic is as fast as a Lambo because both are driving side by side going the speed limit with a cop behind them. There is a limit external of the products' actual performance limit. You would get identical results with a Phenom II X4, please do not tell me you think it has the same performance as a 2500K.

Well, A i7 2600k is closer (in price) and preforms better. Ill save money on the PSU. Also, the BD chip is 2 Quarters of a year newer.

Here is an interesting video showing an FX-4100 @ 4.9 GHz losing to a stock Phenom II X4 965 @ 3.4 GHz in cinebench 11.5:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpPv3tpU8Z4"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpPv3tpU8Z4[/ame]

The FX-4100 scores 3.38 while the Phenom II X4 965 scores 4.06. Keep in mind that the FX-4100 is clocked 1.5 GHz faster than the Phenom II X4 965.
