Gigabyte GTX 560 OC Edition

Thread Starter
Hey all,

I have a gtx 560 OC edition im trying to overclock, Can't seem to see much info about this card, I am aware this is not a "Ti" card?

The max voltage I can set through After Burner is 1087 - Im currently stable at core 950 memory 2050 temp <75C ( I can get this a little lower too as my case fans arent running atm).

Question: Is there a way to unlock the voltage in order to push this a little further?

Many Thanks

Is that Afterburner BETA? Could give that a go.

yea already using latest afterburner beta. I had a look at the bios database thing and couldn't see any bios for this card. Guess the voltage cant be unlocked further?

Yeah I read up that the 560 (non Ti) aren't too brilliant for overclocking with. It's a shame as they could potentially be the 6950's are to be unlocked into a 6970.

I've just had a quick Google search and came across another forums with someone in a similar situation as yourself:

Try that BETA release (if it's not the same) if it doesn't work it may be a stop here for you fella. frown.gif

Sorry about that buddy. Maybe they'll release an update soon which can resolve the problem.

Voltage unlocking works on this card. Simple BIOS mod. Since the GTX560 isn't officially supported in NiBiToR, you'll have to set the device to GTX460 and modify the max voltage and then change the device ID back to the original. I've done it to my GTX 560 non Ti nd works wonderfully well. I could modify it for you if you can upload your BIOS. smile.gif

Great stuff thanks, I did exactly as you said used a combination of nibitor & nvflash to change it to a 460 unlock the voltage then turn it back. Nice one.

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/gigabyte_gtx560_oc/4.htm

Looks like this reviewer had less luck with overclocking the Gigabyte than you did. My EVGA also tops out around 950 Mhz without a voltage tweak - I leave it on 930 Mhz since another 20 Mhz doesn't matter. Figure why push it. I'll try the NiBiToR and NVFlash trick you guys listed to unlock it. Even without unlocking the voltage the worst GTX 560 overclock is still beats most of the better GTX 460 overclocks.
