I'm searching for the most realistic experience for a driving sim and the reviews nod at Thrustmaster's GT500 wheel performing the most realistically but their pedals are lacking. Fanatec, on the other hand, is said to have the most realistic pedals(ClubSports), mainly due to the progressive brake pedal. Can I mismatch their components without any adverse affects? I'll be the first to admit the software side of PC's will forever baffle me so I don't have any clue.

The reality is if I'm going to spend any money on this, I want to make sure I spend the money properly so if that means I have to spend a lot, so be it. I'm not going to spend $50 for junk and be miserable when I could spend $500 and be happy.
