This was a lesson learned for me too.

The whole wait for X product to be released game is pointless, it's better to buy the best of what's available now. Unless we know what type of gains we can truly expect, and if the wait is say less than 3 months away.

I got caught up in the waiting game thinking Bulldozer was a couple months away, and here I am 10 months later without a 2nd rig.

Now I'm waiting for SB-E. LOL, at least it's only a month away.

You were right. I should have bought a Sandybridge in September with a 1155 board. Now im stuck with a 990X and wondering if piledriver will be a pile of crap.

Sometimes it sucks to be right huh?

I can't tell whether it sucks more to be wrong like me or right like you. Next time Im going to be paying more attention to what you say mister prophet :-p =)

I'm confused though.. because that BSOD looks like what's on this site -

http://scalibq.wordpress.com/2011/10/19/amd-bulldozer-can-it-get-even-worse/

They said it's a bug with shogun and Deus ex.
Kinda curious since I own Deus ex and get that same BSOD...

My mistake was being impatient and not waiting for reviews.
Putting "faith" in the wrong places.

Never again.

Nope, I didn't either.

I waited months upon months, but started to get suspicious after all the delays. Finally I said screw it and just bought an Intel rig. I still thought Bulldozer was going to destroy Intel though, but nope...

Biggest dissapointment ever.

The issue is very similar except I was getting it on the desktop (stock speed).

Seems like OP got a bad apple, it happens. Mine is rock solid stable at 4.2ghz at stock voltage, no BSOD, no reboot, no power off, etc.

+1 mines going good too, 4.5ghz @ 1.34
Was having some BSOD problems at the start even under stock settings but that was because turbo core wasnt disabling properly in the bios so it would make the clocks just jump up and down over and over and the voltage couldnt keep up so it would eventually BSOD.

Just a 6100 here, but running great at 4.0GHz - 1.275 volts. My initial problems were caused by some Kingston memory (it is on the approved list) - replaced it with some low voltage G.SKILL - all good now.
