That's funny, I still get 60 frames+ on my macbook pro (windows installed)

C2D 2.66 and 9600M GT

I would check the temperatures on your card. Maybe it's getting too hot and throttling down? A GTS250 (9800GTX) should be MUCH MORE than enough to run TF2 at amazing speeds.

Hope it gets sorted out.

Your CPU is bottlenecking you. TF2 will only really use two cores even with multicore rendering enabled so it likes fast cores. At max settings with 4xAA/AF my rig with a 3.6Ghz i7 920 still results in a HUGE CPU bottleneck that leaves my GTX460 at only 50% load.

Your only choices are to run an FPS config which disables lots of the effects that pound on your CPU (Gibs, facial expressions and rag dolls) or to overclock your CPU.

The DX9 FPS config still looks decent and should give you a large performance boost.

I really wish that I could overclock my cpu rite now, but I lost the jumper for my motherboard, and now I cannot get into the oc menu. Now tf2 is crashing when ever I get into the spawn menu so it does not even really matter anymore, I think I am done with that game.
