Its a great game, might be my favorite atm. I'm 15 hours in, still having a blast.

On another note, CoD online is just so freaking fun!

I saw a few reviews of it saying the single player is only 45 min long and that multilayer really sucked that put me off to getting it.

I saw the metacritic reviews and wow, kind of shocking. It makes sense if you look around and see what other games get. Seems everyone is saying the same thing, really repetitive and doesn't actually say anything. There is straightforward story. You get several unit 13 like missions. The intro or load screen is the traditional CoD fancy documents flooded mess, background info on the mission, etc. In unit 13, it was just a womens voice telling you what you have to do, with 1 or 2 sentences about the situation.

The story missions, I've done about half and they show off the various elements of a true CoD experience. There is some where you can use silencers to deal damage without alerting everyone, there are missions that use night vision. It's fun, I don't expect some hollywood plot with twists that keeps me holding the vita for days. It probably can be done in that amount of time.

The multiplayer, everyone just says its bad. No actual reasoning. The frames are fine, even when you have a couple of people it doesn't drop that much. Maybe a few but its always very much playable. If you expect frames not to drop during intense scenes, you really need to do some research about hardware and such. The experience is great, reminds me of modern warfare 1 on PC. The jumping, running, shooting mechanics just work. People complain about the touch screen use of grenades and such but really, those are just lazy gamers, truly lazy gamers, and possibly stupid.

If you look on metacritic, the scores are all very biased. Games with a good story tend to score extremely high. No consideration is given to the game type, all games are the same formula apparently. A racing game for example, should not have a story, just some type of career, if that. A FPS game does not need a story, it needs the right mechanics in terms of guns, control, audio, map design. The most successful FPS of all time, Counter-Strike illustrate it perfectly. A RTS/RPG game on the other hand NEEDS a story, doesn't really need multiplayer as players can always go back and redo the same map with their higher classes, would be fun to play with friends though. No matter how good the story, I don't think many people would play a FPS game right after they've already beaten, the story portion at least.

I do like it much more than unit 13. This is more of a traditional FPS whereas unit 13 felt more like SWAT. The action was all CQB, which is much more frustrating.

/end, context.

Thanks for the analysis thumb.gif I find that many of the reviews for PS vita games are undeservingly bad. I'm going to pick up black ops on Monday for the PS Vita then, today I bought NFS most wanted and also caved in and bought Assassins creed liberation just because I have always loved the series. I know multilayer is absolutely sucking but i will just skip it and hope that perhaps some patch will come out that makes it worthwhile to play tongue.gif

I also just wanted to say, why are the games so expensive on the PSN store! they are a good 10-15 euros more expensive digitally and I see absolutely no benefit to it except that you don't have to drive to the store. But seriously it's much better too to have a physical copy that you could even sell or trade with your friends then something that is limited to your account and requires you to get a big memory card /R

Anyway, here is a pic smile.gif

ugh i REALLY wish my damn AC bundle came with the game case. I cant even find a printout online for the inside cover so the blank case that my local gamestop gave me cant even be used yet frown.gif
I'm one of those OCD people who need the game cases. I'll try another gametop around my college to see if they have it also

Also, gamestop's black friday ad leaked:
$19.99 for lego LOTR
$199.99 for AC vita bundle
$14.99 Mortal Kombat

If you could do that I'd really appreciate it, at least as a placeholder until I can find an english version. Thanks so much!

I personally love it! The story is a lot more muddled than the usual AC fare, which is already wacky as is, but the gameplay and the fun factor is all there. The graphics are amazing for a portable title, and, while I've encountered some fps issues, it's nothing major and easy to deal with. Bottom line, if you like AC and have a vita, get it.

I played AC only for the story. I really enjoyed Assassin Creed 2 the most. I liked what Botherhood did as far as gameplay improvements but was disappointed a little in the story. Revelations made me realize that Ubi was going to milk the cow until it was dry. I found the story and gameplay of revelations to not be all that interesting or challenging. As a result I'm skipping AC3. I like unique IP's the best, I rarely enjoy sequels.
