The vita gets a pretty bad rap, but I think its really cool. I just picked up P4G and starting that tonight. Love Dokuro, MLB 12 The Show, Mutant Blobs, and Ridge Racer on this thing.

Ok, I think maybe I figured out the problem Tubers...I think it's the camera...

My ON SCREEN P4G shot looks JUST like your PSP version, but when I take a picture of it, it looks like darker, and much closer to your vita version. at least, thats how it is in my case...

The AC:L shot actually looks brighter on camera than it does on screen though..

Thanks. Do you have any other displays? Like an iphone or PSP 3000? to compare with and include in the shots?

I sent the my comparison photos and some rep told me they are going to forward it to publishers and I should do the same: "Ask if it's meant to look that way".

Your ACL SS is definitely brighter.. it's got some green tint though but I'm not really sure if that's the camera xD

Thanks so much again!

May you please also take a screen shot with Silent Hill please?

I wish there was a way to show you the actualy colors a little more easily, but the camera keeps auto-adjusting to make it lighter...I'll keep fiddling with it

Yes that's correct. My bad, I should have said so xD

That's actually one of the best examples on the VITA's black levels.. (I really hope I'm using that as the correct term). smile.gif

Thank you so much for the effort! I am very pleased smile.gif Hope you make another comment later as I have already given rep to your edited post xD

Thanks for all the shots!

I wonder why there's some "blooming" or "over exposed" effect on your shot showing Silent Hill dude walking on the corridor.

I guess it shows that my VITA is just too dark. I can see a lot of details along the lower walls of the corridor in your photos compared to mine.

You think Sony's just trolling me to contact publishers instead of just giving me another unit?

Thanks so much again!!

I think you should just demand another unit, this is simply unacceptable. The vita cannot afford more hate.

I got a reply from Konami! xD
Quote:
Thank you for contacting KONAMI Customer Support. The game IS quite dark so you may be better served by referencing other games or the menus. Since Silent Hill is largely about Atmosphere it tends to trend dark with more saturated blacks.

Best Regards,

Brenda

Basically telling me to use a different reference xD

I wish Atlus and Ubisoft would have a better response biggrin.gif

So my Vita just froze on a black screen, had to use recovery menu to reset.

This is the first time this has ever happened to me, but I started getting odd performance issues earlier this week. My vita would sometimes hang on loading menus, or in the PSN store, and I would have to restart the device, but not using the recovery menu (hold pwr for 30 seconds). I usually err on the side of precaution. Should I contact amazon (where I bought it) and try and have them send me a replacement, just in case, or is this a common enough problem that I shouldnt worry about it and game on as if nothing happened?

thanks
