The 20mb limit over a 3G connection is beyond Sony's control since that's imposed by the carriers. Same thing happens on my Galaxy S II when I have to update an app that has an update larger than 20mb -it says wifi only-
Finally got a chance to spend some quality time with the vita after being swamped with work for the past couple of days. Like everybody else, I love the screen, touch response is very accurate. The UI is fast, "bubble" icons are alright. Uncharted looks great and plays awesome, dual analog is a dream on this thing. At first I thought the sticks were too small but after playing for several minutes you'll realize that they're perfectly accurate & responsive.
Played the FIFA 12 demo. This looks just like the console version. Not really feeling the rear touchpad to aim your shot on goal, but I guess after messing around with it for a bit users should get the hang of it. For now I disabled it
Unit 13 demo: Plays very good, will probably buy it when it comes out in a couple of weeks. Graphics are good - not that impressive but I understand that this is a demo so the final release should hopefully look better.
Welcome Pack mini games: I like these a lot. I know it's mostly used to show the capabilities of the system but the mini games included can be addictive
I downloaded the AR card games but have only played the one with the Fireworks. Played it for about 15 minutes and enjoyed it....best of all they're free downloads
I need to play around with "Near" a bit more. I used it this morning and it shows some users around my area.
My only gripes sofar are:
- UMD Passport not coming stateside therefore I'm stuck with the PSP and UMDs I have
- Digital versions of games need to come down in price. 10% is not enough, specially compared to other digital distros (Steam). A $10 or $15 discount on digital versions would be more acceptable
- Price of memory cards. I understand that one of the reasons they went with proprietary storage was due to piracy concerns but the price is too high. No reason for a 32GB card to cost as much as they do in a world where flash memory is very common nowadays.
Overall, very pleased with the vita. Sony has a winner in this one.
