I don't know about you guys, but I got a PSP after
it was cracked, because
it was cracked. And I have bought about a dozen new games for it too, although I haven't spent more than $10 on a single game for it, thanks to them being so old.
I don't use the fact that its cracked to pirate games, but I do love that I can run emulators and other apps.
But like others said, I really don't blame Sony one bit for going proprietary in an effort to curb piracy, especially with what they went through with the PS3 as well. All that talk about "speed" and "quality" are just marketing non-sense though. To me, the only reason they went proprietary is to combat piracy.
And I think retailer markup explains the current prices for the cards too, when you consider that the PSP Go apparently had a huge retailer markup too.
