Need a little help and advise. I have been running my sig rig for about a year now. I can't complain about this board much, but for one thing my C300 ssd in sata III. I can't see going all out for a 2600k but a new motherboard wouldnt be to bad. Any advise? Appreciated thanks.

None of the x58 boards support sata 3 natively :/ So it is crappy marvel (I do not suggest lol) or native sata 2 with trim support.

I recently "upgraded" to an i5 and a z68 mobo just for native sata 3 support and I really notice no difference in day to day use. I say just live with it or upgrade when Ivy bridge or Haswell is released.

Thanks man, thats what I needed to know. Havent been keeping up with things for a while. I remember how frustrated I was over the marvel issue when I built this thing. Finally just let it go and run on 3gig speed.
The new boards will support 6gig. But I just cant see any great benifit to spend another $1000 just to get sata III. When this things rocks. I am getting under 20 second boots average read and writes for a c300 in 3 gig mode plays games like a monster.

We always want to push and pull for maximum performance , when sometimes its better to just run with the big dog ya got. I wonder what the next intel cpu and boards will be like and if sataIIII (4) is the next issue?
