I voted no, just because you already have a 570. $200 isn't worth it to go from a 570 to a 580. It's a great card, no doubt about that. But not worth the $200 step up.

Take that $200, add another $100 or so to it if possible (sell your 260 somewhere to help out), and grab another matching 570 instead.

I would wait it out, next gen is so soon that you might be able to SLI 580s for the price of one now. Who knows what prices will do in the next few months as we get closer to launch (assuming it is Q1)? I am like you, in the middle, but I decided to wait it out since the cost for the performance really isn't there IMO.

Is it worth it? Eh... from a purely price/performance stance, no.

But if you can afford it, why not? It's just money. You'll make more.

I just bought my ASUS ENGTX580 a couple of weeks ago. For me it was a great investment. At the same time you have a GTX570 and the idea of doing SLI with a second is very tempting as well.
I would say this is one of those: 6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other type choices.
Do what you think is right for you.

The performance increase or lack there of just wasn't justifable enough for me to spend an extra $150 on a GTX 580 when I could push a GTX 570 SC past 580 stock speeds easily

Now the GTX 600 series on the other hand...

These are always tough questions to answer because there is no right answer. It all depends on what you want. People who claim it's not the correct performance to price ratio, I would ask them then what is?

The only yes or no questions that could be answered are " which cards are more powerful " ect. Some of us are willing to spend extra cash to have a card with more memory and higher stock clock speeds, even if it's only a 5% gain in performance. Since you are asking for people's opinions, my answer is if you have the money upgrade your card. You could wait 6 months but what we can say with certainty is there will be something even better catching your eye by then. Lol it's what our hobby is built on. I have gone through a lot of video cards as I get bored quickly with stuff. I think I had my gtx 295 quad core setup for like 8 months. Lol those cards just flat out sucked though. I'm not a fanboy and if something sucks I'd tell people. That being said I can tell you my 580's are prob some of the best built cards I have seen. I know you have to stick with Evga but the MSI card is a beast and is already factory clocked at 832.
