Pretty common for a 570.
GF-110's are great GPU's. Smooth, reliable. Untouched driver set and features.
I wouldn't say it is "pretty common" at all.
That said, some people, yourself included, are able to get that performance out of their 570's. But I certainly wouldn't say its common.
OP: If you are willing to spend the money to get the best single GPU on the market, then heck yes! I do not regret buying 580's. People will say they are bad price to performance ratio and say that for that reason they aren't worth it.
But worth is subjective. To me, I am more than happy to pay the premium for the best hardware around. Why? I am an enthusiast and computer are my hobby. I have no issue spending $500 on a GPU or $1k for an SB-E CPU. Because to me personally, its not about the money. Its about having a computer that I am proud of and can spend countless hours tweaking and pushing to its limits to see what kind of performance I can really get.
So ignore those people that say its terrible value. Because only you can be the true judge of that. All we can simply do is give you some facts and let you make up your own mind.
So basically, on average the GTX580 stock is about 10-15% faster than a stock GTX570. Since you have said that your GTX570 isn't a great overclocker, you're not going to be able to OC to the same performance as a stock GTX580 as some other GTX570 owners can. However, I haven't heard of too many poor overclocking GTX580's. Both of mine can hit 1GHz on the core and I can run them at 950Mhz core @ 1.13v in SLI. An overclock like that will make your GTX580 around 15-20% faster than your current overclocked GTX570.
So is it worth it? Idk, you tell me. Because its your money and not mine. Personally, I would go for it. The GTX580 is the best GPU I have ever owned (I'm not just talking performance) everything about the card is sensational. They are the fastest single GPU cards out, they overclock fantastically, they are a considerable improvement over the GTX400 series and ultimately, I just love everything about them.
