Any way to use colons in file names?

Just wondering if it's possible. The restrictions on characters for file names, while I'm confident has merit, is still annoying. I want to use colons!

Windows uses the colon as a drive delimiter. You could always do what Apple does, which is to use high-number non-printing ASCII characters, but change your fonts so those characters show up as colons, slashes, etc. It won't be as seamless as Apple's solution (since it automatically makes those changes when you rename the file), and it will have the same problem that those characters aren't supported by SAMBA, but it will give you colons.

So it's not practical to do it. Fair enough, just hoping. Thanks!
