Age old question: To CF in 28 days or wait for 79xx CF

I'm scheduled to CF in Nov 15 for 1080p, new 750W PSU arrives today

Or I could happily play games until Dec/Jan, Feb/Mar I wouldn't want to wait, but if 7950s came out in Dec/Jan...this has been on my mind since the summer

Or..... you could wait until the 7950's come out and then buy another 6950 for way less money.

And is there really anything that you can't play maxed out at this point?

thats a good point to, does the last gen price drop by much at the big online places like newegg?

There are games I'm holding off on like metro, all the crysis, a few others that I can't max with 60fps

But I'm playing 4-6 games lately maxed out at 60fps, there are lots of games more to try

I should wait and see, just time lock my money somewhere so I can't touch it til 7900s out

Metro is about the only game you may not be able to max. Although, you could buy a relatively cheap Nvidia card for PhysX and that would help it out immensely. (I have a 9600GSO 96SP 768MB GDDR3 for sale for $45 shipped, it's slightly better than a GTS240).

Crysis you should have no issues with. With my old 5870, it could max Crysis all day long without a hiccup. Granted there might be a spot or two that you might drop below 60 FPS, but this shouldn't be common at all.

As for the price drop, yep, most last gen hardware will drop like a rock.

I believe the rumor is 78xx in December and 79xx is next year late q1 or q2.

saw this on one of the reputable sites like Anand, toms or You.

so if it was me I'd buy a toxic or twinfrozriii asap and enjoy now.
