Dragon Age any good?

Thread Starter
So in case you haven't heard yet, Origin is having a special for 60% off older games, so I would be able to get Dragon Age 1/2 for $8. I've been looking for a good RPG to play to tide me over during Skyrim, because I most likely won't be able to get it until Christmas. (no money) I nearly bought Dragon Age: Origins a while ago, but opted for Borderlands which I couldn't even finish, just not my type of game. I loved Mass Effect 1 and 2 the only other Bioware games I have played, but I played the demo for Dragon Age 2 on PS3 and it was just kind of meh, combat was pretty boring. So will I like either of them? Also, after playing Crysis 2 and The Witcher 2 over the summer the graphics on Deus Ex:HR looked horrible, really pulled me out of the mood, how does Dragon age compare?

i love dragon age 1 -2 and all the dragon age 2 DLC ...dragon age 1 DLC got kinda boring. Great for me because i can play it fine one handed on my g9 mouse and smoke with the other hand. it helped me come off wow because its got the same tank dps healer style but without the *******.

DA Origins is simply brilliant. DA 2, meh.

Graphics aren't stellar though. A lot of low res textures and all. But if you were OK with ME2 then DA Origins shouldn't bother you much.
the DA:2 DLC is highly worth it though
and theres plenty of patches for high res textures

I preferred DA and DA: Origins to DA 2. I'd definitely recommend it.

DA:O is more of a traditional rpg because it really requires you to pause the game and issue out commands to your party. even though it can also be played out as a real time rpg, its nearly impossible because everything requires so much micromanagement.

In DA2 the game kinda steers away from that for more real-time combat. Its definitely more satisfying if ur looking for a beat em up game with RPG elements. The last battle really blew me away here btw. Talk about epic.

One thing I'd like to pt out as well is the similarities between DA and WoW. I really like how they borrowed the ideas of a tank, healer, and dps. Brought me back

Either way ur going to enjoy the story and gameplay for both. For $8 no reason not to.
