OC with 2600k + thermalright silver arrow

Thread Starter
hi guys,

I recently bought a thermalright silver arrow for make overclock on my 2600k.
i found a guide through google but my temperature seems to high.
aroung 78C on 4,7 ghz in max load.

i have to say that my rams have big heatsink and i had assemble with fans position infront pcie. are also 3 days that i assemble it.

my questions are:

1) DId I made some mistakes mounting the heatsink?
2) Someone know some trick to improve temp performance?

thank you guys for your help

What is your AMB?

Maybe you applied too much or to little paste... I only use like a 3mm dot and then use the mounting/weight of block/heatsink to spread the paste.. Sometimes I even remove it to see how it spread so that I can get the ammount just right, yer you have to clean it of and waste some paste but its worth it.

How much thermal paste did you use on cpu when installed? Tell us some more information on your installation of the Arrow?

Awesome video btw... I would say you did something wrong. The raven cases are great [+1 Rep] and you should have plenty of air flow through the Arrow. You should Re seat it, but before you do, check the arrow and cpu is flat like this:

Bearing in mind for the OP that temperatures on that will be lower because of no hyperthreading on the 2500k, unless I missed the fact that the OP has disabled hyperthreading on his 2600k?
