Cant disable ULPS, already set in registry to 0, help needed :(

Im tryint go OC my card, i already get to decent clocks and seems stable, but i guess when i alt tab from game, the card go into 2D mode and then my system freez, i know its powerplay/ULPS issues because before i tabbed the game run perfectly fine....i already played like 40 mins or so (Crysis 2 on max settings with maldo mod) pretty much etreme settings there. I changed the ULPS from registry to 0 in both

So to make it short, how to get fixed gpu/memory clock? thanks, how to disable ULPS? im usign afterburner 2.2 0 beta 8, already set it to

EnableUlps - 0

EnableUlps_NA - 0

And in Afterburner....

Unlock voltage control,

unlock voltage monitoring,

Force constant voltage,

Yet gpu-z shows this...

no-idea.png

Any ideas guys? also how much voltage do i need for 1Ghz generally?

For a Cayman chip depending on your luck anywhere from 1.25-1.3v to hit 1ghz core.

To disable ULPS (Ultra Low Power Saving):

1. Go to regedit (start > search programs and files > "regedit").
2. In drop down menu: find file > type "enableulps".
3. For ALL instances (keep pressing F3) change the "1" value to a "0".
4. Reboot PC.
5. Force constant voltage in Afterburner.

Ah I understant you now. The GPU-Z shows 2D clock, what you want is the memory/core clocks and votage to stay constant as per your settings in Afterburner, right?

It can not be done. Those settings will take effect when there is a load or work for the Core/memory. Those OC settings are for full 3D clocks, not during idle 2D clock.

Edit:

Games will peg the core/memory to 3D in Fullscreen mode, not otherwsie.

BTW is 1.3v safe for 24/7? its seems like i would need 1.3v+ for 1Ghz stability which sux....

Woah 1 GHz, back it down. That clock is for watercooling. 1.3v should be save but the core/memory might hit the limit to run stable for running every games.

I think 940/1375 is the sweet spot, going higher put the core/memory with uneccessary stress and heat with only marginal gain along with all sort of stability issues during game play.

I don't touch the memory, only the core, my card does not like memory oc at all. BTW if my temps are ok, ( Crysis 2 extreme settings with maldo mod around running it around 30 mins) which are max 77c (fan on 50%) why not keep it 1Ghz i don't understand frown.gif ?

Thanks for your help.

If you really see the performance gain and no stability issues, I don't see why not. I can max my core to 1075 MHz with full load temperature only at 47°C but it doesn't run smooth for all applications. Some games will run butter smooth and some heavy games are stressing the GPU more such as Metro 2033, it will start to give me all sort of stability issues. I back down to 975 MHz, I can say all games run butter smooth.
